Educational Programs

Updated 4/3/07

We are now offering educational programs that can be suited for your needs.  You can bring a group of students, boy scouts, girl scouts, or other organization to our temporary location, or we can come to your school or meeting place.  Below is a listing of programs and organizations that we have done.

What does it cost?

The cost of our programs is largely dependent on the type and number of your group.  Costs range anywhere from $2.00 to $5.00 per number of individuals that will be participating.  The price covers the cost of any supplies or materials needed for the program, including activities.  The final cost will be discussed when you call to arrange for your program.

Past Programs and Events

El Dorado, Kansas Tiger Cub Scouts - Aircraft of World War II - The scouts learned about how airplanes were used during the war.  Activities included constructing paper airplanes, coloring the planes after learning about camouflage and nose art, and learning about the difficulties of bombing targets by dropping candy in a toy vehicle while standing, walking, and then running by the "target".

Rose Hill High School, Rose Hill, Kansas, Veteran's Appreciation Day - We provided World War II veterans that were willing to speak to students about their experiences and also provided a program about life for an American soldier during the war.

Traces Traveling Exhibit on Midwestern POWs - We co-hosted this traveling museum from Minnesota with Butler Community College.  Along with the traveling exhibits, we hosted two local authors who had recently published a book about German POW camps in Kansas during the war.
