2010

March 26th and 27th - Updated 3/9/10

"Battle in the Bocage" Tactical Reenactment just north of El Dorado, Kansas starting at 17:00, 26 March, and ending at 17:00, 27 March.  This reenactment is being hosted by the WWII Reenacting Corps and will be open to all outside WWII reenacting units.  Normal authenticity rules will apply.  Compared to other area reenactments, ours will be a "no frills" reenactment, meant to more closely resemble 24 hours "on the line".  We will be reenacting a semi-static battlefront in 1944 Europe meant to test each force's tactical abilities and teamwork.  Missions will be given to both sides with points allotted for each mission.  A winner will be declared at the end of the day based on missions completed and casualties incurred on the opposing force.  We will also be utilizing a casualty system based on medic participation and Battalion Aid Stations.  Each force will need at least one medic, although two or more are preferred, depending on the size of the force.  We will have a porta-john on-site.  Our site is about 65 acres in size so contact with the enemy will be frequent and firefights will be heavy.  Camping overnight will be encouraged and night patrols are allowed, though weapons may not be loaded at night for safety reasons.  You will be expected to provide your own food and water, although some reserve supplies of water will be available at the Battalion Aid Stations.  A minimal $5.00 fee per person will be charged upon arrival.  Much will depend on your squad leader's abilities to command his men properly in combat, and on your unit's abilities to follow orders.  Light vehicles such as jeeps and kubelwagens are welcome to attend, although their tactical use may be limited due to terrain.  If your unit has communications capabilities such as handie-talkies or field phones, this would be an excellent opportunity to use them.  Also be sure to bring your E-tools because digging is allowed.  This is a great opportunity to test your foxhole construction skills.  Contact us for more information or to inform us that you/your unit will be attending.

April 17th

Patriot's Day Celebration, McLouth, Kansas.  We will be participating in a parade and battle reenactment starting at 1:00pm.  McLouth is located about 15 minutes north of Lawrence, Kansas.

May 28th - 29th - New!

Operation Celebration: The 1940's, Peabody, Kansas.  We will be setting up a WWII encampment for GI's and Germans, and will participate in a parade and public battle reenactment.  $20 per reenactor is being offered by Peabody Main Street, Inc. for those that participate, plus 3 meals on Saturday.  Participation will be cleared through the WWII Reenacting Corps.  Contact us if you and/or your unit would like to participate.

September 24th - 26th

Operation Dragoon, Tactical Reenactment near Great Bend, Kansas.  This event will take place on over 500 acres of rolling, grassy sand hills, interspersed with patches of trees and brush, and laced with roads.  This event usually draws several vehicles for both Americans and Germans including jeeps, kubelwagens, trucks and halftracks, as well as crew-served weapons like mortars and anti-tank guns.  This is the biggest reenactment in Kansas so you don't want to miss it!  More details will be posted here as the event nears.

November 6th

3rd Annual World War II History Center Open House and World War II Battle Reenactment.  Details to be added here as the event nears.
