The World War II History Center

Tribute Gallery

Have you ever visited a war memorial, seen thousands of names listed, and wondered who those people were, or what they looked like?  Traditional memorials lack the ability to convey information about those names, which is why we have created the Tribute Gallery.  Essentially, it provides the information and photos behind the names to better convey who those people were and how they contributed to the largest conflict in human history.

This page lists those who contributed in some way to World War II.  Soldiers, sailors, airmen and all the other branches of military service are recognized here, from all nationalities.  Listed below too, are those on the Home Front who contributed such as Defense Industry workers, mothers that raised children while the father was away at war, and Red Cross and USO Volunteers.  It is a way for family members to remember their loved ones, while at the same time sharing that person's life and accomplishments with anyone who has access to the internet.

Behind each name are photos and a biography about each person's contribution to World War II.  If you would like have someone's named inducted to the Tribute listing, click on "Induction" below for instructions.

This Tribute Gallery is a fundraising program for the World War II History Center.  The Gallery is also available for viewing at the Center in the Reception Room on a 37" flat panel monitor.  The Gallery is visible upon entry to the Center, and even from outside through our front window.  Submissions to the gallery make great gift ideas for Christmas, birthdays and Father's Day.  The whole family can pitch in to recognize a family member that served.

Click on a name below to view the tribute for that person.  There are currently 26 names in the Tribute Gallery.
